Agricultural Law - Our firm has broad experience in the area of Agricultural Law, which includes food production sites, such as farms and ranches, and food preparers and distributors, such as meat packing plants and dairy cooperatives. We represent clients with legal issues relating to equine law, agrochemicals, farm subsidies, export and trade matters, employment law, and patents on crops.

Banking & Finance Law - Banks and financial institutions collect deposits from individuals and entities and invest those funds in loans, securities, and other assets. Our firm assists depositors, lenders, and borrowers in accordance with intricate state and Federal banking statutes and regulations. Our attorneys have experience in lending and secured transactions, loan workouts, mortgages and foreclosures, public finance, state and municipal bonds and financing, venture capital, and international banking matters. Our clients include borrowers, commercial banks, credit unions, savings and thrifts, and holding companies.

Business and Commercial Law - We provide a wide variety of services to our business clients from assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and employee relations, to dissolution.

Business Organizations - The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially affects every aspect of its operations. Our firm assists our clients in formation and business planning in deciding whether they want to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company, partnership, or corporation. We advise our clients about directors' and officers' liability, dissolution, franchising, reorganization, trade association membership and activity, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business successions, and shareholders' rights. Our attorneys have more than 100 years of combined experience in handling both transactional and litigation matters.

Construction Law - Our firm represents owners, contractors, construction managers, developers, design professionals, and suppliers in all aspects of the construction process, including bidding and document preparation, contract negotiation and formation, contract performance, financing and warranty issues, mechanics and materialmen liens, and claims and dispute resolution.

Criminal - Our firm has extensive experience defending the rights of people arrested and accused of criminal offenses. We handle all types of criminal cases, including minor infractions and misdemeanors and the most serious felony indictments, such as, drunk driving, drug possession, narcotics sales, theft and grand larceny, white collar fraud, embezzlement, sex offenses, arson, and conspiracy.

Employment Law - Employment law covers a complex network of laws that controls how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. Our Employment Law Practice Group has significant experience in interpreting and construing state and Federal statutes and case law in areas such as employment discrimination, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee benefits, whistleblower litigation, wrongful discharge, employment contracts, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Federal Employer's Liability Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and special laws governing municipal employment.

Estate Planning and Probate - Our firm handles Estate Planning matters which is the area dealing with the distribution of an individual's property at his or her death, taking into account wills, taxes, insurance, property, and trusts so as to gain maximum benefit of all laws and, at the same time, carrying out the person's wishes. Probate is the court proceeding through which a will is proved to be valid and the estate of a decedent is administered. The process, generally, includes collecting a decedent's assets, liquidating liabilities, paying necessary taxes, and distribution of property to heirs.

Family Law - Our firm handles a full range of Family Law matters including adoption, divorce, separation, premarital agreements, paternity, custody, and support.

Government Agencies & Programs - Our firm has an entire department of attorneys which represents clients in matters in connection with countless state and federal agencies and programs, such as law enforcement agencies, the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security, and many, many others. We advise clients in situations where action, or inaction, of a government agency or availability of a government program affects or potentially affects them.

Health & Healthcare Law - Our firm has extensive experience in the large and complex body of health and healthcare law which encompasses areas such as disability law, elder law, hospital law, and mental health law and is impacted by Social Security Disability, Medicare and Medicaid, and the Food and Drug Administration. We also have a large managed care practice, representing individual practice association clients in negotiating contracts with HMOs and in the formation of preferred provider organizations.

Insurance Law - Our Insurance Law Practice Group concentrates in insurance regulatory matters and transactions involving insurance and reinsurance companies. We have served as counsel to major national and international companies. Our specific areas of expertise include regulatory issues before the State Department of Insurance; corporate restructurings and equity changes; investments, securities, and banking matters; and reinsurance and insolvency issues.

Litigation and Appeals - Our firm represents and advises clients who are or might become involved in a lawsuit or appeal as a result of a dispute, including prevention and settlement, in such areas as personal injury and employment claims, contract disputes, and family law and commercial matters.

Personal Injury - Our firm represents individuals involved in controversies alleging a wrong or damage to another's person, rights, reputation, or property resulting from events or activities such as automobile accidents, defective products, infliction of emotional distress, intentional misconduct, and negligence.

Probate & Estate Administration - Our firm specializes in Probate and Estate Administration. Probate is the legal process by which a person's debts are paid and assets are distributed upon her or his death. Lawyers refer to the entity that owns the deceased's assets until those assets are distributed as an "estate." Estate Administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased's assets. Individual state laws direct the probate court how to distribute the deceased's estate. State laws and procedures vary greatly, so, it is important to consult a firm with expertise in this area of the law to ensure that the deceased's assets are distributed correctly.

Products Liability - Our Products Liability Practice Group has years of experience and an excellent track record of representing individuals who have been injured as a result of an unsafe product that was designed, manufactured, sold, and/or furnished by a person or company. We assist those injured individuals in bringing their claims and being fairly compensated for their injuries. Our attorneys have represented individuals injured by asbestos, apparel, alcoholic beverages, firearms, food and agricultural products, machinery and tools, medical products and devices, motor vehicles, pharmaceutical products, recreational products, and tobacco.

Real Estate - Our Firm represent both commercial clients and individuals in all proceedings and transactions that deal with real property-land and the structures attached to it-including purchase and sale, construction, mortgages and foreclosures, leases, zoning, title examinations, quiet title actions, closings, and management.

State, Local & Municipal Law - Our Firm has expertise and knowledge in the areas of powers and liabilities of state and local government and municipal corporations, including matters such as land use and zoning issues, municipal employment disputes, and injuries to personal or property by municipal employees.

Taxation - Our firm represents individuals and commercial clients in matters with tax implications, identifying and addressing state and federal tax issues, structuring transactions in such a way as to minimize taxes and avoid inherent tax problems.
